    The Poseidon Blu Team diving school, the collaboration with doctors and nurses of the USL BA 2, organizes a BLSD course.

    Course objectives

    Have participants learn the basic resuscitation sequence in the adult in respiratory and / or cardiac arrest and the maneuvers to be performed in case of obstruction of the foreign body airway.
    The course also allows you to learn knowledge and skills related to the use of the semi-automatic defibrillator. basic support of vital functions and early defibrillation. This course teaches how to help those affected by heart attack through cardiopulmonary resuscitation and defibrillation.

    Instructors
    The instructors are physicians and nurses or non-health personnel, adequately trained, who, having completed the training provided for by the IRC Basic Course regulations, have been certified by IRC as a basic instructor for the lay population.

    Teaching methodology
    - Frontal theoretical lessons;
    - Practical training stations on simple techniques for small groups on dummies;
    - Simulation islands (low fidelity) of complete scenarios;

    5 hours

    Time devoted to theory
    1 hour approx

    Time devoted to practice
    4 hours approx

    Certification
    The frequency of the course and the passing of the final evaluation allow to obtain an IRC certification valid for 24 months.
    A retraining course is required to renew certification and maintain skills and competences.
    It is possible to access a retraining course within 6 months from the expiry date of the whole course; this does not involve an extension of the initial validity, but simply facilitates the admission of the learners to the retraining course, making the period that allows access to the course wider.
    Passing the retraining course extends the validity of the certificate by another 24 months.
